Hecate - 3 Aspects of the Goddess

This site is dedicated to my daughter, Rio, my mother and grandmothers, my granddaughters, and all my sisters, in blood and in spirit.

We are the physical manifestation and expression of the divine feminine.
The Goddess in all her forms and attributes.
She is found within each of us females,
In Human Form and Animal Form alike.

We are the Goddess in all of her manifestations. We are the Wo-man, Wimmin, Womyn, Wymin, Wommin, Goddess, Feminine Power, Girl, Maiden, Mother, Mom, Ma, Grandmother, Granny, Grammy, Grandma, Crone, Hag, Witch, Healer, Midwife, Bitch, Seductress, Enchantress, Soothsayer, Energy Worker, Magick Maker, Spellweaver, Web Weaver, Moon Maiden, Fate Predictor, Shape Shifter, Creator, Warrior, Defender, Sacrificer, Destroyer.

smiling girls We are all sizes, shapes, colors, and of many cultures, religions, and ethnicities, yet we have one thing in common with each other... our feminine power, our humanism, our spiritual connection with each other. We are the part of the great Goddesses Athena, Diana, Hecate, Morrigan, Inanna, Demeter, Persephone, Brighid, Ishtar, Aphrodite, Lilith, Eve, Epona, Ma'at, Arianrhod, Aradia, Isis, Kali, Gaia, Mari, and the countless many other Deities representing the Maiden, Mother, Warrior and Crone aspects of our feminine spirit.

We are any and all of these and other names and personalities that make up each of us as girls and women throughout our lives and lie within our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual essence... we are part of all our mothers and sisters who have come before us and we are a part of all our daughters and sisters who come after us... we are one with each other.

Science has shown that through our genetics, our physical essence, we can track back our feminine side to our ancient mothers through our mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), which only we women pass on to our offspring and continues down through our daughters and granddaughers. Males do not pass this connection on to their children. It is a consistent genetic link and history of our ancestry. Within us we carry the past as well as the future. A great responsibility, one that we should not take lightly. Let us make our time here momentous, something we will be proud to pass on to those who follow us.

Mothers and Daughters

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take
But by the moments that take our breath away.

This page is dedicated to all of us of the feminine and that marvelous power that we hold within us giving us our intuition, our strength, our laughter, our wisdom, our sisterhood, our love, our growth... and our power. Let us embrace all those words & names as a part of us and who we are... receiving from them the power that they hold... both positive and negative, for we are both and all degrees between extremes.

My daughter, Rio

We are awesome and powerful. We are lunar. We are cyclic, like the tides, the moon, and the turning of the seasons. We bleed but not from wounds as men do, but from our inner cauldrons of life as an offering to our Earth Mother in all her many aspects. We create, support, and birth life from our bodies, nourishing life at our breasts with our bodies and blood and/or by the creative endeavors of our minds and hearts.

We are the role models and teachers of the young. We are lovers, nurturers, and caregivers. We are the shakers and movers of the world. We are healers and light givers. By the power of our mind and touch, we transform all within our world. We heal the body, mind and soul of those who need our compassion and power. We are midwives to the miracle of life. We assist our sisters with their life transition from maiden to mother. As crones, we share wisdom with all sisters from the beginning of life to the ending of life.

We are the warriors and protectors of our young and those who cannot defend themselves. We stand as guardians between those who abuse and their victims. We hate the violence and war of man, but we do not fear when we must take a stand and fight to protect those things that need to be sacredly preserved.

And when death is near, we stand by those on the threshold of the worlds as guardians and midwives for the passing journey from life through death. We offer comfort and assistance to those in need, easing the release of life through our love, support, caring, and knowledge. Our tears are shed in sadness and joy in their parting... so that they may again return to the spiral of life, death, and rebirth.

We are feared by those who do not understand our great inner power. We are called evil and are often persecuted, beaten, raped, and murdered. We are often the subject of greed, power lusting control, abuse and violence at the hands of those who covet our natural power and wish to take it for their own by making us submissive to their wills. But we have been made strong by these trials and we have endured and survived them, making us more powerful in our strength and will... thus enabling us to be released to new pathways... in life and in death.

We must all have and keep a sense of humor about life and about our experiences in our lives, about our individual trials and tribulations, and about the choices we make. We all make the best choices at the time we can make them. No regrets, no guilt. We all do the best we can. We must learn to look straight-eyed into the face of adversity and laugh at it. A bold, deep chest laugh. One of confidence and honor. Never of timidity or fear. In our humor, our strength, and our love of life, we will overcome any and all that which chooses to challenge us. Our love of all things living and yet to be born will give us the power to go forward and to overcome these challenges. We find strength in our friends, our sisters that we encounter along the way. They laugh with us, cry with us and give us comfort when we need it the most. Many have gone on before us and we shall follow them... we listen as students to their teachings and wisdoms. And we are now, where those who follow us will be... we become the teachers. As students, we become teachers and as teachers we are also students. Either way, learning and experience is what our lives are about.

Sacred Woman
Initiation into the Divine Feminine
by Maggie Erotokritou

www.awakened woman.com/sacred_woman.htm

Sacred feminine empowerment is not about being aggressive, or turning against men, it is about being conscious and actively contributing in a different way through combining gentleness with strength and not being afraid to act on our intuition, when deep in our hearts we know something is right. The work of the sacred woman and the divine feminine offers new ways to approach life but especially offers training in personal transformation, which empowers women to be everything that they long to be and to fully express their creativity and full potential. Women have a more delicate nervous system than men and need to take enough time to rest, meditate and regenerate. Stress and strain are a woman's greatest enemy and rob her of her health and energy. By regaining a state of internal peace, harmony and balance, we can find a new perspective and enjoy life more. When we explore deeply, in a supportive environment with other women who have similar interests, this helps us grow and expand our sense of self, which furthers our process of transformation. Through being together and listening to different perspectives, it helps us get a clearer sense of where we are going and what needs to change. Embracing the path of the sacred woman offers us countless opportunities for expansion, empowerment and living our truth.

We live in challenging times and life is very different from the time of our mothers and grandmothers. Women are challenged to be good at everything and to balance the roles of family life, work and personal development, which is rarely an easy task. In the past most women tended to relinquish the role of self-development or even thought they were selfish if they thought of themselves or took time off to do something they liked. Today's woman who is more conscious, realizes and acknowledges that her own self development is not only a necessity for herself and her well being but is also advantageous for those around her and that her family and work can truly benefit when she has a clearer perspective of who she is and what she wants out of life. She then becomes better equipped to help and support others in their lives and can extend this nurturing quality further afield into other areas of her life including her work, but first she needs to learn how to deeply nurture herself. Until we become clear on where we are going and what we want and what is needed both on an individual and collective basis, we will struggle with issues of self denial and feelings of lack of fulfillment.

We are in the midst of great change, both a time of personal transformation and planetary transformation. Women are being called to come forward and to express themselves more, to take up new roles in society and to engage in ways of living that are in alignment with their highest level of integrity.

EMBRACING THE DIVINE FEMININE

Embracing the divine feminine is about empowering yourself as a woman in a new way through bringing the sacred into your life, in a practical way that works for you. Each of us in our own unique way has an important part to play in the world. We are the nucleus of a circle around us that consciously or unconsciously we influence. Through being aware of what sort of influence we have, whether it is positive or negative, encouraging and supportive or critical and disempowering can make all the difference. Empowerment is an internal process, which is then reflected outwards. True confidence, courage and determined energy come from developing a clearer sense of self, clearing blocks and releasing limitations that we may have created or that society may have placed upon us.

In the Divine Feminine training we explore the different archetypes and qualities of sacred women both of today and the past and also look at what is the new feminine archetype, the sacred woman who is emerging today. This is an individual quest, for ultimately each woman's journey is her own and unique but in another sense we as women are also emerging collectively. We can embrace and share this vision together and inspire each other as we share our journeys. We have to first plant seeds, and then be patient whilst they germinate, grow and bear fruit, the secret lies in knowing which seeds to plant and when, this is where a woman's faculty of intuition is so valuable.

The new feminine archetype, which is emerging now is about giving birth to a new reality, and being a part of the feminine spiritual transformation that is taking place, which will also allow our full blossoming potential to come forth. Through exploring the different aspects and qualities of the Divine Feminine, we can discover and become clearer on our own life purpose and what work needs to be done. Deep within every woman lies a sacred woman with tremendous potential ready to emerge. As we discover how to tap into the depths of our being, and release whatever has hindered our full self-expression, we come into contact with our true essence, our pure potential. When the blocks to this potential are released, it flows abundantly and creatively like an overflowing river.

Every woman is a sacred woman, a Goddess waiting to be born. It is time for women to regain their power, to empower themselves with the feminine grace and wisdom which are their birthright. Empowerment is about opening the doors within and finding the courage and the strength to express and live our truth. An empowered woman is active; she engages fully with the process of life, she does not hold back, she is conscious and responsible. She does not fear the unknown because she trusts that in the unmanifest lie countless treasures and opportunities, waiting to be found.

INITIATION

Initiations were sacred ceremonies or celebrations, rites of passage from one stage to another. Puberty, marriage, childbirth and menopause are sacred rites of passage, which are honored in most traditions. An initiation is like the key that opens a door, it creates an entry point, it helps move us forward.

In the work of the Sacred Woman, we explore the realms of the divine feminine and take a sacred journey together, which is both beautiful and enlightening. We share who we are and discover new aspects of ourselves. This particular journey is taken in 7 steps and 7 Initiations are given. The first step creates the foundation for the work to come and explores the feminine perspective from different points of view. It also teaches us to become more grounded, to be aware of the physical body, more centered, more peaceful, harmonious and still. True centering becomes possible after we release all emotional discord, which knocks us off balance and creates disempowerment. Alignment helps us become clear, energized, vibrant, dynamic and creative throughout the day. Grounding, centering and aligning help us maintain the sacred throughout the day no matter where we are or what we are doing.

Invoking the Divine Feminine, the Goddess and the Sacred Woman is the most transformative work any woman can do. The mantra of the Sacred Woman is that of the I Am, which sets an intention of empowerment in the moment.

I am ...
I am at peace within myself.
I am in harmony with everyone and everything around me.
I am a sacred woman.
I am on a sacred path.
I am aligned and attuned with the Divine Feminine at all times.
I am treading the path of all the sacred women who have gone before me.
I am conscious of what I create and work from the highest level of integrity.

HERE'S TO MY GIRLS!!!

What's so poignant about this picture? Well, it shows a line of little girls holding hands facing the immensity of ocean waves.

Alone they might be washed away, but together they stand strong.

Thank you each for holding my hand somewhere along the way when I was facing a wave of my own.
I hope you will reach for my hand when your own wave threatens.
All of us girls...
Old and young...
Near and far...
Hold special memories of good times we've shared.
We've had our share of hard times when our friends were there to make us feel better.
We've shared...
our hearts
our time
our secrets
our fears
our hopes
and our dreams.

friends and sisters Let us never break the chain of friends!
I am only as strong as the caffeine I drink, the hair spray I use and the girlfriends I have.
Here's to you!
Why do we only have parties for each other when one of us gets married, pregnant, has a birthday, or retires?
What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants, and shopping, lunching and traveling girlfriends?
Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake!
If you get this sent to you twice or more, you are lucky to have more than one girlfriend.

Someone will always be prettier.
Someone will always be smarter.
Their house will be bigger.
They will drive a better car.
Their children will do better in school.
And their husband will fix more things around the house.
So let it go, Be Happy!
And love yourself and your circumstances.
Think about it.
The prettiest woman in the world can have trouble in her heart. And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children. And the richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes... might be lonely.

And the word says if "I have not Love, I have nothing."
So, again, love you.
Love who you are.
Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say
"I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed!"
I like that!
"Winners make things happen.
"Loser s let things happen"
Be Blessed ladies and pass this on to encourage another woman.

"To the world you might be one person,
But to one person you just might be the world".

SEND THIS TO YOUR FAVORITE WOMEN - I JUST DID!
THIS IS TO YOU - MY DAUGHTERS, SISTERS , MOTHERS, AND FRIENDS!

"A faithful friend is the medicine of life."

(Received from my niece, Jade, July 2007)

  • A FEW THOUGHTS ABOUT STRESS

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 8 ounces to 20 ounces. The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work/life down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy!" And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
      1. Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
      2. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
      3. Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
      4. Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.
      5. If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
      6. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
      7. It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
      8. Never buy a car you can't push.
      9. Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
      10. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
      11. Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
      12. The second mouse gets the cheese.
      13. When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
      14. Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
      15. You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
      16. Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
      17. We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
      18. A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today.
