Super Bowl Sunday Party - 2006

Our Super Bowl Sunday was a wonderful time for cheering for our favorite Super Bowl team. We had a nice mixture of Steeler's fans with Seahawk's fans in our club during the game. The only thing that could have made it better was if the Patriots had been playing in place of the Steelers or the Seahawks.
The Super Bowl party started at 6 p.m. when Tom Brady, of the Patriots, flipped the coin at the beginning of the game. The game action was great for both teams and the VFW membership were seen cheering each team on during the plays.

There was some controversy during the second quarter about a touchdown call for the Steelers which excited some of our members (the fans primarily rooting for the Seahawks), but as we all know, we have to go with what the referees and the deciding powers-that-be decide on these matters.
The half-time show was excellent with The Rolling Stones presenting excellent entertainment. There were several of us bee-bopping around club to the music while they were on stage.
We had plenty of snacks during the party (chips, dips, popcorn) plus an excellent Chinese Food Buffet from Salem Jade Restaurant (located on Lafayette Street near the Salem State College). The pool table was covered for the party and the food was spread on the pool table for serving. Everyone ate their fill and there was plenty to go around for the evening.
There were several football raffles going on during the game including the prize of a 42 inch Samsung HD Plasma Television to be presented at the final score to the winner.
