        Installation of Post Officers And Ladies Auxiliary 2006-2007
        Witch City VFW Post #1524
        May 20, 2006


        The Installation of Post Officers of Witch City Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Officers of the Ladies Auxiliary for 2006-2007 was performed at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 20th, 2006.

        Opening statements were made by 2005-2006 Post Commander Roger Leger. Chaplain Rolly Pelletier offered the Opening Prayer. Pledge of Allegience to the American Flag followed the opening prayer.

        The Ladies Auxiliary Officers were sworn in first with the Post Officers following. The incoming Commander of the Witch City Post was Roger E. Leger and the incoming Ladies Auxiliary President was Vinnie Cavanaugh. Both Commander Leger and President Cavanaugh have served in these positions in the prior year(s) and were happy to continue to serve the Witch City VFW Post in the 2006-2007 year.

        Visiting representatives from the City of Salem and other Veterans Organizations were introduced and acknowledged for their attendance at the installation.

        Corsages were handed out in appreciation of support to various family members and supporters of the post by Commander Leger. A "Whatever The Need, 100% Post Membership Award 2006" was given by the Department of Massachusetts VFW and presented by Commander Leger. It was displayed on the podium.

        Following the installation, dinner was served and music and dancing following for everyone to enjoy.

        Monthly Membership Meetings: 3rd Monday of the month, 7:00 pm

        Monthly Board of Directors Meetings: 3rd Monday of the month, following the monthly meeting.

        Monthly Women's Auxiliary Meetings: 3rd Monday of the Month, 7:00 pm (in basement)




        The wearing of casual civilian clothes with the VFW overseas or VFW ball cap at Post meetings is considered being in uniform. Uniforms are recommended for parades and other community activities.
