        2009 Merit Grant For Special Education


        MERIT GRANT RULES FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION

        1. The Polish Legion of American Veterans, U.S.A., Ladies Auxiliary, National Department is pleased to announce one Merit Grant available in the amount of $500.00.

        2. The Grant is available to students who have a learning disability, physical disability, or an emotional disability with the purpose of allowing them to continue their education. Need will be considered. Recipient is eligible to receive this grant only once.

        3. The Grant is open to sons, daughters, step-children, grandsons, granddaughters, nieces or nephew of current active members of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, U.S.A., or the Ladies Auxiliary.

        4. Return the completed application to the State Department Scholarship Officer (or Post Commander / Chapter President if not State Department exists) no later than MARCH 7, 2009.

        5. The completed application must be sent to the State Department Scholarship Officer or if there is no State Department, send to the Post Commander / Chapter President. After verifying the completeness and eligibility of the application, the State Department or Financial Officer will submit the application to the National Scholarship Officer POSTMARKED ANYTIME PRIOR TO OR ON MARCH 30, 2009.

        6. The committee of judges shall be composed of three people not affiliated with the Polish Legion of American Veterans, U.S.A., or its Ladies Auxiliary and should be people with experiences in the area of special education. They shall be selected from the area of the residence of the National Scholarship Officer.

All applications should be accompanied by a grade transcript and must be completed before submitting to your State Department Scholarship Officer. Partial applications will be disqualified. Note: Please follow application instructions carefully and submit ONLY the information that is required. If you have questions about the scholarship application, contact your Scholarship Officer.
