        A Flying Potion

A Fool and their Money are soon Parted
        A Fool trying this Recipe,
        Will soon to be Departed

        Ingredients:
        • Fat from an infant (homosapien).
        • Extract of celery.
        • Aconite.
        • Tea leaves.
        • Belladonna.
        • Suet

First off I would like to point out from known historical records on the subject, that the unbaptized human fat was added to this potion by members of the “Witch Hunts”. To create hysteria, and malicious intent towards the persons being accused of the crimes of Witchery.

Secondly “Aconite” and “Belladonna” both are Deadly. There active ingredients affects are not constant amongst humans. Where one person could ingest or wear a ointment a fraction of the same dosage would cause Death to another. We in no way recommend, or advocate any one experimenting with these herbs. Nor do we recommend handling these plants as there poisons will leach in through skin pours. This article is for information purposes only. Life is at the worst of times is better than death.

        Aconite

        Aconitum napellus/Aconitum anthora

This herb is also known by many other names including Wolfsbane and Monkshood. All parts of this plant are poisonous with the roots, and leaves having the highest concentration of “Aconitine”. Aconitine is the primary poison, with as little as a “one hundredth of a grain” dose applied locally will cause sensations for a entire day.

The symptoms include; nausea, difficulty breathing, weak pules, clammy skin, vomiting, dazed feelings, tingling of the skin, staggering, and clarity of the mind.

In past generations its usages also included; bait for wolves, as well as a poison that arrows where dipped in for hunting wolves, a cure for lycanthropy (the transformation of man to beast most often a werewolf) “Well I guess they figured what didn't cure lycanthropy would defiantly stop it from spreading”, and also as a poison used on dart like pieces of flint by Witches known as “Elf-bolts”.

Aconite has long been associated with magical death rites, and rituals. It has been used in everything from elixirs to incense. More than often the practitioner of the necromantic arts would find themselves joining the spirits they so dearly wanted to commune with FOREVER.

        Belladonna

This herb is also known as Deadly Nightshade. All parts of this plant are poisonous with the root being the most toxic. The berries can be eating in small quantities (2 or 3) by adults, but are lethal in the same dosage or less to children. The poisons produced by this herb are Atropine, Scopolamine and Apoatropine. Even one tenth of a grain of Atropine has caused symptoms of poisoning, higher levels Death, Scopolamine is the known Hallucinogenic. This herb is also related to potatoes, tomatoes, tobacco, and mandrake.

The symptoms include; possible convulsions, rash, dilated pupils, memory loss, paralysis of the parasympathetic nervous system, and a deep sleep accompanied with vivid dreams.

In past its usages also included; gaining confessions (torture), to dye skin (purplish color as it was considered attractive), diluted... rinsed in eyes to dilate (again for beauty), treat gout, rheumatism, and Parkinson's disease, a aphrodisiac, various forms of sorcery, to treat certain forms of Cancer in recent times, and a antidote for Amanita muscaria (Fly Agaric) poisoning.

        On Application

There are two versions on how this ointment was applied. The first was to rub your entire body vigorously until your skin turned red . This would cause the pours to open, and the ointment to easily be absorbed into your body's bloodstream. Then apply the ointment generously.

The fat or suet was added to this potion for two reasons. The first was to give the potion a creamy slave like property. The second was to aid in keeping the active ingredients next to the body where they could be absorbed.

The second version on applying this potion was by vigorously rubbing a generous amount of the ointment in and around the genital area. This was at times aided with the use of the end of a broomstick.

The second method of applying the flying potion would defiantly shed some light to how brooms (besoms) where to become associated with flight in the Arts of Witchcraft. Regardless of how factual these reports where it would appear that from word of mouth, and the presumption that things of this nature where not openly talked about that eventually the wise men and ladies (mostly ladies) where soon to be known as flying around on brooms to reach there Sabbaths.

        On Flight

        The affects of this potion could defiantly give the person affected by its poisons the sensations of flight. One of the drawbacks to this potion would be that to receive the hallucinogenic qualities a lethal dosage must be taken. The symptoms are as follows;

      • The person suffering from the toxicity of this ointment would not believe themselves to be under any form of mind altering chemicals.

      • Vivid sexual and erotic dreams where common with less intense dosages, while terrifying and bloodcurdling hallucinations where are to common with higher levels of toxicity.

      • The sensation of traveling to known places (whether real or fantasy), and conversing with known people often took place.

      • The distinguish between what is real and what is fantasy was difficult to impossible to tell apart.

      • When a person “came down” off the effects of the poisoning all the events, visions, and everything else that was experienced would seem as real as if they actually happened.

        Accusations of Witchcraft

Knowing what hallucinogenic effects these herbs have on a person might shed some light to the “Witch Trails”. It is easy to see a person not knowingly being poisoned by one of these plants. Remember all it takes is to handle one of these plants for a extended period of time to become poisoned. If a cut or abrasion is present on a part of the body that comes in contact with these plants the affects of the poisoning are more intense.

Now that someone has become poisoned there is a good chance they will be in contact with some of there peers (even if only in hallucinations), next flight to a known place remember this place only has to be know in that persons mind it does not have to really excised. Sexual and erotic sensations will also occur, perhaps with there peers or if the dosage is high enough causing traumatic hallucinations a beast or devil might be involved in these fantasies.

Now when you put that all together and add the fact that the person under these poisons will truly believe these visions took place its not hard to imagine someone accusing their peers of taking them to a “Christian's version of a Witches Sabbath” where orgies, and fornication with a beast or Satan himself took place.

We do not advocate or even suggest anyone attempt to use or experiment with this potion or these deadly plants. Your mind holds many secrets waiting to be released. The ability to harness the power within your own mind is extremely rewarding, but narcotics are short lived sensations not gateways to spiritual, and mental enlightenment.
