Natural vinegars, such as apple cider vinegar, wine vinegar, rice vinegar, and so forth, are especially effective mediums for extracting the mineral richness of plants. Some alkaloidal components may also dissolve in vinegar.
Fill a jar with fresh leaves, roots, flowers. Then fill with the vinegar of choice, label, and cap. Use fresh plant materials only. Be aware of vinegar's ability to corrode metal and use plastic lids or corks for your herbal vinegars. A piece of clear plastic wrap placed over the jar opening before screwing on the metal lid can be used.
