I hated to do this, but my age and my growing health issues has taken it's toll on my ability to provide the best quality services to my clients. I will miss having the hands-on care I provided, but, alas, I am no longer a spring chicken... just an old cluck nowadays.
There are still many helpful services in the North shore and Metro Boston Region of Massachusetts that will continue to provide similar services, though I like to think that maybe not as top quality as mine. I will, however, continue to try to bring quality information to professionals and their clients through my website. Q: Why Use a postpartum doula or home health care service after having your baby?
Motherhood is a major life transition for most women. Most times the adjustment period feels less overwhelming when someone is available to address your questions and concerns and to provide an extra pair of hands to help out where they may be needed. It is for this reason that women and their families value the help a doula or home health care provider offers with a postpartum pampering service. Many of our birthing client's mothers and extended family members are not available to help, and even if they are available, some new mothers do not have the breastfeeding experience to support a nursing mother.
A postpartum pampering provider is trained in home health care, midwifery, lactation consultation, and is a non-judgemental woman with a quiet presence in your home. She gives emotional and breastfeeding support along with practical newborn care tips and she is available for taking care of necessary household tasks. This helps ease your transition into motherhood, allows you more time to spend with your newborn and other family members.
Postpartum pampering providers differ greatly from baby nurses, as we are not there solely to tend to the baby's needs, but to encourage and teach families to care for their own newborn. Providers are flexible to the needs of each family. They help mothers and fathers to trust their instincts in meeting their baby's needs.

- Breastfeeding support and assistance
- Overnight care, for when you really need a night with uninterrupted sleep, or breastfeeding assistance through the night
- Cooking meals, including preparing some to freeze for after we finish helping you
- Light housekeeping - vacuuming, dusting, laundry, straightening
- Errands and shopping
- Childcare for older siblings
- Babycare so mom can rest
- Teaching babycare to new parents
