HERBAL HOLIDAY GIFTS
Holiday gifts can be a wonderful way of celebrating the Yule holiday. Taking time to create your holiday gift can be fun for you and your gift receiver. A gift that you can enjoy putting together of your own spice blends and then bottling them with attractive labels is easy to do and will be enjoyed for the rest of the year. You can get creative designing labels for your spice blends on your computer to make the packaging really special. Here are a couple of some favorite seasoning recipes for gift giving.
HOLIDAY GIFT BLEND RECIPES
CAJUN SEASONING BLEND RECIPE
3 Tablespoon Sea Salt
1 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
1 Tablespoon Paprika
1 Tablespoon Granulated Garlic
1 Tablespoon Onion Flakes
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
1.5 Teaspoons Thyme
Mix all the herbs together and grind into a powder, bottle and label. If you really want to make great spice blends, buy your herbs whole or in small pieces and then grind them into powder yourself using a mortar and pestle or coffee grinder. Your seasoning blends will be more potent if you grind the herbs yourself.
GARLIC & HERB PEPPER BLEND RECIPE
1/2 cup Organic Sesame Seeds
1/8 cup Green Onion Flakes
2 teaspoon Cracked Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Garlic Granules
1 teaspoon Lemon Peel Granules
Simply mix these ingredients together well and bottle and label.
HERBAL VEGETABLE DIP MIX RECIPE
1 Tablespoon Dried Chives
1 Teaspoon Onion Flakes
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Granules
1/4 Teaspoon Sea Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
This dip is so simple and really tasty. Mix all the herbs together and package in small packets with homemade labels. I enjoy including Cilantro flakes and Cayenne or Red Pepper Flakes in my dip blends. Include preparation instructions as follows.
Ingredients Required:
1 Package Cream Cheese 4 ounce
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
1 Herbal Seasoning Packet
To prepare, stir the sour cream and cream cheese until they are smooth and then stir in the herbal seasoning until well blended. Pour into a serving dish, cover and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
SCENTED BATH OIL BALLS RECIPE
1/2 cup Baking Soda
1 cup Citric Acid
30 drops Essential Oil
4 Teaspoons Almond Oil
Mix Citric Acid and Baking Soda in a bowl very well. Mix Almond Oil and Essential Oil separately in a small bowl. Take half of the oil mixture and half of the powder mixture and stir together very quickly until the mixture starts to stick together. Shape into balls or press into oiled molds, packing firmly. Let sit a few minutes and then remove from molds. Place on wax paper to dry for at least 24 hours. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Try Lavender Essential Oil for a relaxing bath or or for an uplifting bath try Peppermint, Orange or Lemon.
CITRUS BODY SPLASH RECIPE
1/2 Distilled Water 1/2 cup Alcohol (100 proof ethyl alcohol or vodka)
5 drops each of Orange, Lemon and Tangerine Essential Oils.
Blend essential oils in alcohol and then stir in the distilled water. Package in a glass container. Cobalt or green bottles with an atomizer is a nice way to package this for gift giving. Shake before using. Your friends and family will love the uplifting aroma of this citrus blend!
