In addition to the substances discussed above, there are many natural food supplements designed
for specific circumstances. There are too many of these products to discuss them all here,
but several that we feel are to be highly recommended are the following:
- Body Language Essential Green Foods from Oxyfresh USA. This is a combination that
includes alfalfa, Atlantic kelp, kale, spinach, spirulina, bladderwrack, dulse, barley grass,
chlorella, and wheatgrass, plus the enzymes maltase, amylase, protease, lipase, cellulase,
dunaliella, and pectinase, to provide a green food concentrate rich in beta-carotene,
chlorophyll, and trace minerals. (Unable to find source via the internet...may be a discontinued
product.)
- CamoCare cream from Abkit. This contains chamomile and other active ingredients. It
relieves pain associated with a variety of ailments involving the muscles and joints. Chamomile
acts similarly to cortisone in relieving pain, but without the side effects. Rub this cream
onto the affected areas four times a day for best results.
- Colostrum Specific from Jarrow Formulas. This supplement contains freeze-dried
bovine colostrum containing high levels of substance called Cryptosporidium parvum
binding units (CPVUs), which are antibodies specific to C. parvum, a common parasite
that can infect drinking water. Bovine colostrum also has immune-enhancing properties.
- DynamO2 from En Garde Health Products. This is a double buffered stabilized oxygen
product that releases oxygen in the digestive tract.
- Jerusalem Artichoke Flour Supplement. Jerusalem artichoke whole tuber flour (JAF) tablets
or powder are a good source of fructooligosaccarides (FOS), which support the growth of healthy
intestinal flora. Good for people with candida infections.
- Smart Longevity from E'Ola Products. This liquid suppliment distributed by Lifelines,
is designed to bolster brain function. It contains nutrients to enhance brain function and
antioxidants to protect against free radical damage. Ingredients include vitamin C, ginseng
extract, schizandra extract, DMAE, choline, and vitamin E.
- Sub-Adrene from American Biologics. This is a highly concentrated whole adrenal-
cortical extract of bovine origin. Designed for sublinual administration, it has a peppermint
taste and supplies a balance of natural steroids.
- Wellness Formula from Source Naturals. This supplement is designed to support optimal
health in cold weather. Its ingredients include vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, and
bioflavonoids; the immune-boosting mineral zinc; bee propolis, and the herbs angelica, astragalus,
boneset, cayenne, echinacea, garlic, goldenseal, hawthorn berry, horehound, mullein, pau'd'arco,
and Siberian ginseng.
- Whey to Go from Solgar. Whey To Go is a powedered protein supplement. Its ingredients
include 3 different types of whey protein concentrates, plus added free-form L-glutamine and
branched chain amino acids. Whey supplies beneficial elements such as calcium, the milk protein
lactalbumin, and immunoglobulins, proteins that function as part of the immune system.
